User Research lead | COLLABORATION with Dr. Damian Frank (CSIRO)
About the project
Overview: I will be required to conduct some background research on previous use of smell simulations in VR/AR and run some experiments in which people play a VR game, which has been 'enhanced' with synthesised smells that match the gameplay. The hypothesis would be that the use of smells helps create a more immersive experience. I will also be required to conduct user experience studies. This would involve:
Helping to design/set up experiments
Running the sessions, gathering feedback (questionnaires & interviews)
Summarising and presenting findings.
Discipline: Design thinking, Participants Recruitment, Ethics in Research, Research Design, Qualitative and Quantitate User Research and Reporting.
Design Tools: User Persona, User Journey, UX research.
Year of Completion: May 2019
Team Member: Dr. Damian Frank (CSIRO), Assoc. Prof. Andrew Johnston (UTS), and Polly Au
